Why waffle weave
It dries you, then dries itself.
Waffle weave has deep square pockets that soak up water, but the fabric is thinner than terry, so it dries much faster on a hook.
That's what makes it good in summer and in small bathrooms without much airflow.
The first two washes make it softer and a little thicker as the cells tighten.
